Qualifying Meets

There are two meets that swimmers and divers can qualify for: Sectionals and States. These meets take place at the end of the season and allow the teams to compete outside of the regular conference against a much larger pool of competition (no pun intended!)

Sectionals

We are in the South Sectional Region for Massachusetts. The time cuts are based off of the previous years' times, and can be found in the pdf linked above. These times aren't as low as States' are, but are definitely challenging to hit. The same thing goes for divers, but with higher scores that have to be hit multiple times. Qualifying means that you have to continue to practice for another week after everyone else, but it's a much smaller group, which can be fun. If you qualify, give yourself a pat on the back!

States

Wow! You made it to States! Congrats! The qualifying times/diving scores are really hard to reach, especially since BR is a Division I school. States is the next level above Sectionals, meaning it's times and scores are harder to get than the previous. This yet again means another extra week of practice at the end of your season. But also means you get the chance to swim against the best swimmers in the entire commonwealth of Massachusetts, and perhaps even crown yourself as one! Good luck out there; make us proud!
